GLOW - Girls Light Our Way
Announcing GLOW 2 – A repeat of the very successful 2024 activity day is on Sunday 16th November 2025, at Queen Katherine Academy, Peterborough. The day will be filled with 4 STEM activities and 4 creative activities. THESE WILL BE THE SAME ACTIVITIES AS PROVIDED DURING GLOW IN 2024 AND BOOKING PRIORITY WILL BE GIVEN TO THOSE UNITS WHO DID NOT TAKE PART IN ST IVES.
Think lantern making, glow in the dark mindfulness pebble decorating, a drawing master class, slime, Lego construction, brain teasers and a bit of dancing – all topped off with an indoor campfire to end a fab day. Leaders are required to help their young members with these activities and this is a perfect excuse to have fun throughout the day with your unit. Please ensure minimum ratios apply when booking and for those leaders who run multiple units we will endeavour to allocate your units to the same larger team where possible so hopefully no-one need miss out.
Do however keep the date in your diary, the shop will open on Monday 25th August and there is a limited 250 young member places available on a first come basis. Bookings close promptly on Friday 10th October. A waiting list will be in place if all the spaces book up and will be reviewed after the closing date.
The cost is £12 per young member and includes an event badge (because you can’t have an event without one). Girls and Leaders will need to bring a packed lunch and water bottle and / or flask of a hot drink. Please note there will be no food available to purchase or hot water at the venue but there will be cold water available.

Volunteers
As you appreciate I’m sure, these events don’t run themselves. To enable the Event Team to bring their units we are looking for volunteers who are able to come and help. We need people to demo the activities, put out and replace resources and marshall the teams around the venue. If you are interested and could come along, even for a short while, we would be extremely grateful. Please email Liz – [email protected]
Unfortunately, if we do not get enough volunteers we won’t be able to do the full programme or the activities will have to be self-led which is a lot less fun. Please remember volunteers do not need to be members of Girlguiding so don’t forget to ask parents friends or family if they can help. We can’t wait to hear from you. If you have any questions regarding the event or volunteering please also contact Liz – [email protected]
