County 60 FAQs

The county camp is for Brownies, Guides, Rangers, Young Leaders and Leaders. Guides, Rangers and Young Leaders can attend without their leaders if they wish

The camp has a vast timetable of activities to enjoy. These will (hopefully) include: swimming, silent disco, crafts, climbing wall and a treasure trail. Girls will also have the opportunity to earn their Camp Skills Builder badge.

Bookings are now open and can be made via our county shop. A non-refundable £40 deposit per person is required by 1st May 2026. The balance is then required by 1st July 2026. Failure to pay the balance by 1st July will mean that any places will be forfeit and deposit lost. Payment via bank transfer into the county bank account is preferred.

Leaders can arrive on site from 9am on Friday to pitch their own tents and assist Brownie Leaders to pitch the Brownie Tents.

Guides are to arrive from 10am to pitch their tents. Brownies are to arrive from 11am.

Camp will end at 4pm on Sunday.

Kit questions:

If your unit does not have tents, please get in touch as we will have items to borrow and / or hire.

Each person attending will require their own plate bag with cup, plate, bowl and crockery. All items (including the bag) need to be named please. A water bottle will also be required

Swimming costumes, towels and goggles (if required) in a separate named bag. We will also have a tuck shop and a mini shop selling guiding items on site.

There is no insurance for personal possessions and it is advised that ''if you don't want to lose it, don't bring it'. That said, many of us use our phones as cameras, so a safe box will be used to house phones and other valuables during the camp.

Food questions:

Everyone attending will be required to bring a packed lunch for Friday. It is then a fully catered camp from Friday evening to Sunday lunchtime. Please therefore let us know of allergies as you book spaces.

Yes, absolutely! Please let us know of allergies as you book. Some meals are being provided by outside caterers and we will need to give them the allergy details as we confirm final numbers.

Hot drinks, water and squash will be available throughout the weekend. Just don’t forget your mug and water bottle!

Leader questions:

Good news - as this is a large event we will have the licence covered so you can still attend with your unit without a licence. County camp is a great way to gain experience before registering for the Going Away with Girlguiding scheme.

The county event team will be completing the Risk Assessment and REN for the camp. They will also provide the Information and Consent form, Health form and kit list nearer to the time for your unit.

The name and contact number of your unit's home contact as well as a list of emergency contacts for all attending the event must be submitted to the county office by Friday 31st July.

We will have a central first aid person for illnesses and injuries on site. If you, as a leader, are a first aider, we would ask you to look after the general day to day first aid. For example, inhalers or hayfever tablets. When going off site, you will need to be responsible for your unit's first aid.

We will have no parking available on site. Leaders can park on the streets around the campsite or be dropped off. The events team are trying to source local parking so we will keep you posted.
