First Aid Training Courses

All Girlguiding activities need a first aider in attendance, so we encourage all our volunteers to complete first aid training.

A first aid qualification will allow you to respond in emergencies - as well as to bumps, cuts and bruises. 

There are two ways to become a Girlguiding first aider:

1st Response Training:

1st Response is Girlguiding own first aid course, created specifically for our members. It is delivered by qualified Girlguiding trainers who are trained in both first aid and first aid training.

External First Aid:

You can also complete a first aid course with another recognised provider. This is known as external first aid and includes a range of higher-level first aid qualifications.

First Aid Training in Cambridgeshire West:

Here in Cambridgeshire West, we offer both routes to becoming a first aider. We have our own Girlguiding 1st Response trainer, as well as our approved external first aid provider, giving members a choice of training options. Throughout the year, we offer a variety of dates, venues and training options, making it easier to find a course that works for you.

Course Cost:

Both our 1st Response and external first aid courses cost £35 per leader.

The cost can be claimed back from either the Unit, District or Division as a legitimate expense and is non-refundable.
